About the Editors

Jiann-Tsyh (Ken) Lin is a research chemist at the Western Regional Research Center, Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, in Albany, California, where his research interests include metabolism of lipids in castor bean and HPLC of lipids. He is currently working on a research project to develop a domestic source for the production of ricinoleate and other industrial-use fatty acids. The author of more than 90 publications, Dr. Lin is on the editorial board of the Journal of Liquid Chromatography and Related Technologies and Current Pharmaceutical Analysis and is a member of the American Oil Chemists' Society and the American Chemical Society. Dr. Lin received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Drexel University.

Thomas A. McKeon is a research chemist at the Western Regional Research Center, Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, in Albany, California. The author of more than 90 journal articles, book chapters, and published proceedings, Dr. McKeon is also the coeditor of Agricultural Materials and Renewable Resources (ACS Books, 1996). Dr. McKeon's research interests include biochemsitry and molecular biology of lipids and biotechnology for designing industrial crops. He is a member of the American Oil Chemists' Society, the American Chemical Society, and the Association for the Advancement of Industrial Crops. Dr. McKeon holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
